SRH works in collaboration with the Government of India, under the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme to detect and treat sputum positive patients. The Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS) programme started in the year 1998, covering a population of 0.5 million people in Hyderabad.

SRH runs a Tuberculosis unit with five Microscopic Centres for direct sputum testing.

Treatment is also provided for all of the other categories of TB.

SRH workers are constantly motivating and educating patients about the importance of completing the treatment, enabling a cure rate of more than 95%.

?From 2004 to Feb 2017, of the 8972 patients registered with SRH, 2809 sputum positive patients were cured successfully.?
