It is with a great pleasure I place before you the 67th Annual Report of this institution.
Smt.Nandita P Sen, Former President and Member of the Board of Sivananda Rehabilitation Home passed away peacefully on 18th Nov 2024. She was a Member of the Board for many decades and was a great support to the Founder of this institution, Late Rani Kumudini Devi. On the demise of Rani Kumudini Devi, Mrs.Sen was elected as the President of the Society until Dec 2018 when, due to ill health, she resigned as President but continued as a Member of the Board until Feb. 2021.
Dr. B. Pratap Reddy, a member of the General Body and a great supporter of our Institution passed away on the 18th of May 2025.
Mr.Paul de Wit from the Netherland’s has been a longtime donor of SRH. He introduced Sivanand Rehabilitation Home to the Wilde Ganzen Foundation from Nederlands who have provided financial support in renovating fifteen living quarters and eight toilet blocks on campus for the Home Inmates. Part of the funds were contributed by Mr.Paul de Wit . Mr.Paul de Wit visited SRH in January 2025 to see the renovated facilities and appreciated the work done. We are grateful to the Wilde Ganzen Foundation and to Mr. & Mrs.Paul de Wit for their support.
We are extremely grateful to the Management of TFL Quinn India Pvt.Ltd. & Veljan Denison Ltd., for their continuous support to SRH.
With the support of regular donors like Deccan Fine Chemicals(India) Pvt. Ltd, Amazon UK Online Giving – Benevity Foundation Partner- Canada, Sivananda Centre Hyderabad (USA), NATCO Pharma Pvt. Ltd., Chaitanya Memorial Education Society and many others, SRH has been successful in carrying out its services.
The Study project “0” Phase Leprosy” taken up by SRH & Janssen & Janssen was successfully completed.
A second project taken up during this financial year with Janssen & Janssen (collaborative study partner) is “BLOOM (biomarkers) indicating the presence of M. leprae bacteria)” and the same is going on smoothly.
Two Dissertation projects were taken up at SRH by the Medical Students of Maastricht University, Sivananda Rehabilitation Home & the German Leprosy Relief Association-India “The position of reconstructive surgery in the mental health and wellbeing of people physically changed by leprosy” & “Barriers for women affected by leprosy with Grade 2 disability to seek healthcare services in Telangana, India”.
Inauguration of the renovated Old Age Home Building for the Chudamani Vruddha Ashram was held by Amara Foundation for Life for providing accommodation to the elderly.
As in the past, we have benefitted from the generosity of many of our well wishers and I would like to thank them for the donations & help that they have provided to SRH over the years. The German Leprosy Relief Association-India, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, The State TB Control Society have made substantial contributions to our efforts for which we are grateful. We thank the Sisters of the Nirmala Dasikal Congregation for their continuing dedication and selfless service.
I would also like to thank our doctors and other staff members for their dedication and hard work which has made SRH what it is.
