Ambulance and Solar light donated by Alex Thomas
My father visited the Sivananda Rehabilitation Home last year. His company, Vitol, donated funds to help build a new ward at the hospital. His description of the wonderful work that is being achieved inspired me to do something to help. Although I play a lot of sport, mainly cricket, I am not a natural runner. However, I saw a sponsored run as a way to raise funds for Sivananda. I trained hard for 3 months and finally felt ready to undertake a half-marathon. On Sunday, 22nd August 2010 I completed the 21 km of the UFDance Runner's Quest Half marathon in just over 2 hours. Through the amazing generosity of family, friends and my father colleagues, I managed to raise a huge amount of money. I am very pleased that my hard work paid off in such a successful way and enabled the purchase of a much needed Ambulance and solar lighting for the Rehabilitation home. - Alex Thomas
