Patients with complications either referred or voluntary from all over Andhra Pradesh and from neighbouring States avail the services.
A high percentage of the 6000 patients with deformed hands and feet on whom Dr.August Beine has performed Reconstructive Surgery are back in society earning their livelihood with their self-respect and dignity restored. A special mention has to be made regarding the facilities available for Physiotherapy. The Ortho and Cobblery sections cater to the footwear and artificial limbs demands of other institutions as well. Other Leprosy Institutions depute their staff to avail of the training facilities with us.
OUT-PATIENT DEPARTMENT :
More than 17000 patients have been treated. Though a majority of the patients are referred from Medical College Hospitals, District Hospitals & Primary Health Centres, patients coming on their own are also treated.
