PPTCT, NGO Out Reach Programme
The aim of this programme was to achieve the objective of no child being born with HIV. The Unit started functioning in October 2007 and the headquarter is located in Sangareddy town where an office has been established with the required infrastructure. There are 15 mandals within the division and 19 Primary Health Centres and 1 Rural Health Centre at Patancheruvu and 3 area hospitals at Sadashivpet, Zaheerabad and Narayankhed. 3 VCTC’s are located in the above 3 hospitals. The Sangareddy PPTC unit has testing & counselling facilities and will provide ART drugs.
So far 15 AN +ve cases have been detected and 3 deliveries conducted at Sangareddy PPTCT centre. One case has left the area and could not be traced. Out of the 3 deliveries one child died soon after birth and the rest were provided with Neverapine to the mothers and babies.
915 tests were done at the VCTC and 177 tests done at the PPTCT centre (Total 1092). 395 tests have been done in 9 camps conducted in the remote PHC’s for detection of +ve AN cases but so far only 2 cases have been detected.
