7.G E N E R A L :
The German Leprosy Relief Association & Aussaetzigen-Hilfswerk Oesterreich have been extremely generous in their continuous support to this institution from the year 1979 for which I am highly grateful.
I look forward for the same kind of support and encouragement from them in future years also.
Due to the rapid escalation in the cost of Medicines, Food Stuffs, P.O.L. etc. we are looking forward for more financial support from the present donors as well as from the future donors.
From 1975 Dr.August Beine, a German Orthopaedic Surgeon was visiting the SRH every three months to perform Reconstructive Surgery. In 1981 he was appointed as Chief Medical Officer on a permanent Residential status. He is of immense help to the patients. With the Reconstructive Surgery of the deformed hands and feet he performs, he totally transforms their lives and brings new hope to them.
With great pleasure I would like to inform you that this year we celebrated the Silver Jubilee of Dr.August Beine’s dedicated service at the Sivananda Rehabilitation Home.
I thank Dr.Beine for his selfless service to the destitute leprosy patients and for training our Doctors in Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Beine has a number of publications to his credit.
I would like to mention here that Dr.Srinivasan, formerly Honorary Editor of the
Indian Journal of Leprosy, has in his recently published an “Atlas Of Corrective
Surgical Procedures Commonly Used In Leprosy” included Dr.Beine’s procedure
Extensor Pollicis Brevis (EPB) Deviation Operation.
I also place on record my high appreciation for the dedicated services rendered to the leprosy patients by the Sisters of Nirmala Dasikal congregation since 1975.
I also thank all the staff members for their continuous dedicated services to the institution.
